Tight Gas and Shaley Sand Examples NMR Results Without NMR Logs (VMRP) |
Standard log analysis brings to mind solving for porosity and water saturation. This is part of the answer, but typically the REAL questions are; 1) How much oil and gas is in place? 2) How fast can it be produced? 3) Will water be produced with it? We have developed methodology for answering these questions, particularly well productivity in terms of relative flow rates of hydrocarbons, and water from various zones. This is particularly useful in areas with stacked sands, some of which produce water, some are tight, etc. Areas of success include Rockies, East Texas, Louisiana, South Texas, Africa, South America, and others.
